Albany ARC and CARF

The Albany ARC has received accreditation by CARF International (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). CARF accreditation demonstrates a program's quality, transparency, and commitment to the satisfaction of the persons served.
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities requires all providers be accredited. Accreditation is a review process conducted by a nationally accrediting body utilizing their professionally recognized standards. The CARF accreditation is a seal of approval announcing to persons served and their families that Albany ARC programs provide services focused on their unique needs. It is a sign of assurance to third-party payors and governmental regulations that we have met internationally recognized standards. Moreover, it is a tool for quality improvement within Albany ARC.
Our last accreditation took place in October of 2010 when we were awarded the maximum accreditation of 3 years. We are conducting a self-evaluation of our organization in relation to the CARF standards. We are also thinking in terms of how we can demonstrate practices and conformance of our services to the standards to a team of peers during the survey process. The value of accreditation is more than a certificate hanging on the wall. It is evidence that Albany ARC strives to improve efficiency, fiscal health, and service delivery-creating a foundation for consumer satisfaction.

Albany ARC Nursing Department
Residential Nurse Liaison/Staff Education
This department allows us to monitor our more medically frail consumers closer and it also
provides the staff with someone to call regarding any concerns they may have with
consumers' medication or condition. Staff education classes are scheduled monthly, and
held in the ARC Training Center. This allows staff to complete all yearly state and agency
required trainings.
